Your communication preferences, interests, goals, and custom instructions are extracted so your Soul already knows how you like to interact. Conversation facts become memories.
Uploaded files are processed in memory and never stored. Only the generated personality and extracted memories are saved to your Soul. You can export or delete all your Fostera data at any time.

Go to Claude Settings → Export Data. Download the ZIP and upload it to Fostera. Project conversations are prioritized for higher-quality personality synthesis.
Character.ai doesn't offer a formal export. Copy your conversation text and paste it directly into Fostera's import tool. Our AI reconstructs your character's personality, tone, and backstory from the conversation.
Each platform has its own export method. Upload the exported file (JSON, ZIP, or text) or paste conversation text. Fostera auto-detects the source platform and handles the rest. You can also upload PDFs, Word documents, or Markdown files.
